My top songs of the 80s

I first started to become interested in chart music in the late 1980s and this has remained one of my favourite decades for music ever since. I believe that during this time, some of the best ever music was produced. Unlike today, most bands were not manufactured by large, multinational record companies and the majority still played their own instruments. Since the 80s there has arguably not been another decade that has had the same drastic amount of innovation across all music genres.

Here are 25 of what I consider to be the greatest songs of the 1980s. There are no doubt countless more fantastic songs that I have forgotten or simply do not have the time to mention. Let me know what your favourite song of the 80s is.
